"Alucart" is a playoff on the name Alucard. While in English it simply comes across as a nonsensical pun on the phrase "À la carte," in Japanese, a "T" sound is changed to a "D" with an accent mark. Thus, in Japanese, it looks the same, but without the " at the end of the name. In several games, Alucard's equipment, which are among the best to be found, have the name "Alucard" in it. Obtaining an item with the name "Alucart" in it may initially elicit some excitement, but ultimately disappointment when it is realized that it is not the real thing. There are three pieces of Alucart gear, the Alucart Sword, Alucart Shield, and Alucart Mail, which correspond with the Alucard Sword, Alucard Shield, and Alucard Mail. The name of these items suggest the possible existence of an Alucard-like character called "Alucart", but this has not been established.

Castlevania: Symphony of the NightEdit

In Castlevania: Symphony of the Night, Alucard loses most of his high grade "Alucard" gear to Death early in the game. The player may then search the castle in hopes of re-obtaining it. The player may then find all of the Alucart gear hidden in an area above the room of clocks where Maria is first encountered. This gear turns out to be mostly useless though. While they don't have the worst statistics found in the game, they are likely well below what the player has already obtained by the time they find it. The player will also find they don't have the special properties that the true Alucard gear has (such as the Alucard Sword's warping attack, the Alucard Shields heart recovery when blocking and its Shield Rod spell, or the Alucard Mail's resistance to Fire, Ice, and Lightning). As compensation, it is possible to get a luck boost of +30 by equipping all of the Alucart gear and entering "Alucart" status.

Castlevania: Curse of DarknessEdit

In Castlevania: Curse of Darkness, the Alucart Mail can be created. Unfortunately, the Alucard Mail is not obtainable in that game.

Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the NightEdit

In later games, the Alucart gear is not so much useless, as it is early useful gear to have. Obtaining the gear in Castlevania Puzzle: Encore of the Night is welcome, as it is most likely a little more powerful than what was being worn before. Obtaining all three pieces completes the Family Heirlooms set, which provides a Max HP boost of 30.

Castlevania: Harmony of DespairEdit

In Castlevania: Harmony of Despair, Alucard starts his quest with the Alucart Sword equipped. He can soon obtain the Alucart Shield by purchasing it from the shop. The Alucart Mail does not make an appearance in that game and there is no Alucart status luck bonus to be had.
